Title (Prompt): Unavoidable

Disclaimer: Kingdom Hearts is, most obviously, owned by big name companies and not by a girl sitting at a laptop on her bedroom floor.
Summary: In which Axel learns the repercussions of messing with Vexen’s stuff.
A/N: The trick to snooping, Axel, is to not get caught. Ahaha.
Also. Can anyone point out any typos or things? Because I wrote this at two in the morning and I feel sort of dead.
“I knew from the moment that you stepped foot in here it was a bad idea.”
Axel groaned, not wanting to hear anything resembling “I told you so” from the resident know-it-all. “Yeah, yeah, you’ve told me a million times,” he grumbled, not amused.
Vexen, on the other hand, looked as if Christmas had come early (in that Vexenish way of his without actually smiling. And figuratively speaking, of course). “Which just goes to show how you don’t listen to people who know better. The next time I tell you to stay out of my things, you should comply.”
“I wasn’t going through any of your stuff,” Axel muttered, but it was basically pointless. The proof was all over his face. Literally.
“Then explain how my security measures ended up on your person,” Vexen replied.
Yeah, there was no weaseling out of this one. “Magic.”
“I fail to see why you would go through the efforts of — ”
“I didn’t know it would explode pink goo all over my face if I picked it up, okay?” Axel exclaimed before Vexen could go on.
The Chilly Academic smiled smugly. “That’s the point of it being a security measure.” He surveyed the damage Axel had done to his lab table. The little thief had broken two beakers and a small electronic device before discovering the booby trapped box. “I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later. Don’t look so glum.”
“Would you be happy if your face matched Marluxia’s hair? I think not,” Axel snapped, rubbing his face for nearly the twentieth time since he’d been caught. No matter how hard he tried, his skin remained bright pink. “What the hell is this stuff, anyway?”
“Just think of it as a very interesting tattoo. I’m sure you could think up an impressive back story for it.”
Axel would have blanched were his face capable of turning any other color. “You mean it’s permanent?” Surely Vexen wouldn’t do this to him. Oh, who was he kidding? Of course he would. “Vexen, buddy, come on, you have to take it off. Leaving me like this would be cruel and unusual punishment.”
“That’s the point of it, yes,” Vexen said, clearly enjoying Axel’s plight. “However, I suppose if I do not remove it, you’ll bother Xemnas until I do. Therefore….”
Axel’s expression visibly brightened before falling apart at Vexen’s next words.
“I’ll remove the color after a couple of days. Hopefully you’ll have learned your lesson by then.”
Swearing under his breath, Axel vowed to get revenge on the cocky scientist, one way or another. Just, without touching any more of his stuff.
