Title (Prompt): Executioner

Disclaimer: Kingdom Hearts is, most obviously, owned by big name companies and not by a girl sitting at a laptop on her bedroom floor.
Summary: In which Saïx informs Xaldin of the situation.
A/N: Slash is dead. All I’ve got is conversation. Sheesh.
They were on their toes now. They had sent out their warning shot, and it had failed. It was time to sit back and determine the best course of action. Of course, the best course of action is not necessarily the best course for everyone.
“Demyx lost.”
Xaldin eyed the Nobody that had approached him. “Did you expect anything different?” he replied.
Saïx didn’t look amused. “While reluctant, he still knew how to fight. We are working on a new plan.”
“Is Xemnas in on these new plans, or are you just wasting my time?” Xaldin inquired coolly.
“Xemnas knows of everything I tell you, Xaldin,” Saïx answered just as uninterestedly. Xaldin was silent, so he continued. “You know what to do if you run into the keyblade wielder.”
“Invite him to tea?” Xaldin drawled sardonically. “Yes, I had assumed the obvious.”
Saïx glared. “If it needs to be done, you’ll be the next one sent to deal with Sora and his friends.”
Expression calm, the Whirlwind Lancer asked, “And why is that?”
“Oh, we can just tell how you love to play the executioner.”
Xaldin snorted, firmly holding Saïx’s gaze. “Surely you don’t believe everything Number Two tells you. He likes to...exaggerate.”
Saïx shook his head. “I’m fairly good at procuring my own observations.” He smiled faintly, just a hint of perfectly performed amusement. “I do hope this doesn’t present with any problems.”
“Did I say I had problems?” Xaldin retorted.
“No, of course not.” Saïx turned away from the dark-haired Nobody, peering down the long, empty hall. “This is just a precaution, at any rate. We’ll keep playing with Sora until we no longer need to.”
Xaldin smirked slightly, smile nearly as hidden as Saïx’s. “If I had to choose anyone to be the Organization’s executioner, I think the position would fall more in your direction, Saïx.” He paused, added after a moment, “Or perhaps Axel, but that’s for a different reason entirely.”
“Hm.” Saïx looked back over at Xaldin. “Though, executioner is such a nasty word, isn’t it?”
With a snort, Xaldin summoned up a portal of darkness, saying, “Then it fits us all just beautifully.”
