[Kingdom Hearts] Broken [1/13]

Title: Broken

Disclaimer: Kingdom Hearts is, most obviously, owned by big name companies and not by a girl sitting at a laptop on her bedroom floor.
Summary: In which Roxas is caught at the scene of the crime, and Xemnas is skeptical.
A/N: Not much to say today. Though, this drabble just sort of reinforces my image of mom!Xemnas. *headdesk* Haha.
The crash echoed through the empty halls, somewhat of a pleasant break from the silence of the castle. Xemnas sighed and made a swift turn down the corridor to his right, heading for the source of the loud noise.
The doors to the library were wide open. It didn’t take a genius to figure out what had happened.
As he stepped into the library, an unexpected sight met his eyes. The newest member of Organization XIII stood surrounded by the scattered books, a somber look on his face. He looked up when Xemnas entered.
“Sorry, sir,” he said simply, unfazed at being found at the scene of the crime.
“You admit to knocking over an entire bookshelf?” Xemnas asked skeptically. When something in the castle got broken, whoever did it usually ran without a moment’s hesitation. Besides, there was no way this boy could have pushed the thing over by himself.
“I never said anything about that,” Roxas replied, pausing to move out of the debris of the bookshelf and its contents. “I just said I was sorry your bookshelf has been ruined.”
Ah, that made much more sense. Now all Xemnas had to do was figure out who had actually done it and have a little chat with them.
Roxas, however, was making this entirely too easy for him. “Axel and Larxene thought it would be amusing,” the younger Nobody continued, “to see me get in trouble on my first day here.”
Xemnas smirked faintly, figuring out exactly what must have happened. Axel and Larxene had sought to make it look like Roxas had destroyed the bookcase, and had left him here to take the blame. He’d have to have a word with those two, Axel in particular. He did the same sort of thing to Number XI when he had joined the Organization.
“It’s quite all right,” Xemnas said at last, waving a hand over the mess on the library floor. “It was only a shelf. And at least I know exactly who to have clean this all up.”
