Title (Prompt): Palaces

Disclaimer: Kingdom Hearts is, most obviously, owned by big name companies and not by a girl sitting at a laptop on her bedroom floor.
Summary: In which Luxord wants a palace.
A/N: Heehee. Luxord the sultan. What a fun image.
“Well, this would be a grand place to live. What do you think?”
They walked through the long halls of a palace, decorated with colored tiles and gold. A fountain could be seen through the columns, out in a garden.
Lexaeus shrugged. “We already live in what is essentially a castle. Why would you need another?”
“Why not? This one is considerably nicer.” Luxord grinned. “And much warmer.”
“I’m sorry it doesn’t meet your requirements,” Lexaeus replied, rolling his eyes. “Would adding in a pool make it better?”
“Maybe,” the gambler answered, still smiling. “The lack of sun would be depressing, though.”
Birds in the courtyard twittered, the only other sound in the area besides the flowing fountain water. It seemed to be a palace that wasn’t very guarded, much to their luck.
“Seriously. It wouldn’t hurt to live somewhere appealing, you know?” Luxord continued, already in his own little bubble of thought. “Sure, a secret base right out in the open would probably defeat the purpose, but you can only look at white walls for so long.”
“You say you prefer...this?” Lexaeus gestured to the potted plants and the elegant murals on the walls. It was all a little gaudy for his tastes.
“Less white stone perhaps, but yes. The way it’s fairly open to nature at points is somewhat reassuring.” He shrugged, clasping his dark gloved hands together. “But of course, I don’t suppose Xemnas would be very open to any remodeling.”
“When we’re further along with our plans, you can take over your own palace,” Lexaeus suggested, expression just as serious as always.
Luxord let out a laugh, running a hand through his short trimmed hair. “Just as long as you remember to keep to your promise.”
“I’m not promising a thing.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll still hold you to it.”
Lexaeus sighed. Hopefully this would be something Luxord forgot soon.
